Founders Dinner 2019


Annual Celebration of the Club's Unique History

From 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm

Founders Dinner annually honors the Club's 109 year history along with our founding principles of camaraderie and community.  Past Founders Dinners have focused on different decades of the Club's history but this year is different. 

The Club owns Medford's 19th oldest commercial building which was originally built in 1910 for the Home Telephone and Telegraph Company.  The Club has occupied the building since 1947 but, since we have generally concentrated on our own history, most Club Members know very little about our home.  For example, when the U Club took over the building it created a small apartment where the Library now is located and a succession of ladies lived there (more about that at the Dinner.)  And from 1947 to 2002 the main floor was a bar and card room with the dining room on the second floor -- a part of the building which didn't exist when the building was constructed in 1910.

And back, by special request, for entertainment is the wonderful female quartet, Passing Notes, who were such a success at Founders Dinner 2015!

And, of course, we'll have a great meal featuring fine cuisine that you might easily have enjoyed at the Club's own founding in 1910.  Our menu, crafted by Chef Jason, consists of:

  • Medford Inspired Waldorf Salad 
  • Palace Hotel Filet Mignon 
  • Green Beans
  • Franconia Potatoes
  • Cottage Pudding with Brandy Sauce

If you prefer, you may choose a Black Bean Pasta with vegetables in lieu of the beef.

Since the RRV University Club Foundation has recently established a tax-deductible means for you to contribute to the preservation and maintenance of our historic home, this year's Founders Dinner is particularly timely and appropriate.

Cocktail Hour at 5:30 and dinner 6:30.  $40 per person.
